Stacey Dash continues to defend herself against BET and her recent comments made about Black History Month, tweeting the message on Thursday (Jan. 28), "Many of your reactions — saying I've sold out to white people, that I'm 'coonin' etc — show you aren't hearing me" to which she included a link to a new blog post.
She writes, "I'm not saying we as black people deserve LESS respect. I'm saying we deserve MORE. Black History should be apart of social studies and history curriculum EVERYDAY OF EVERY MONTH OF EVERY YEAR. not just 28 days out of 365!!!!"
The "Clueless" star adds that it's not white Americans who are keeping black people "in their place," but black people themselves.
"I am sick of settling for breadcrumbs. I am an American and I cannot be categorized or limited by anyone else's definition of me," Dash writes. "I can tell by the hysterical reactions that it's not WHITE PEOPLE who are trying to keep black Americans in their place. It's BLACK people."
Closing out her latest post, Dash concludes, "We need to swipe the breadcrumbs on the floor and eat of the wonderful, rich food this nation offers.
