The ladies of Fifth Harmony are not OK with being made to feel bad about their sexy fashion choices.
The popular X-Factor-made pop group, made up of Dinah Jane Hansen, 18, Camila Cabello, 18, Ally Brooke Hernandez, 22, Lauren Jauregui, 19, and Normani Kordei, 19, talked to Cosmopolitan about the issue in an interview published on Wednesday.
When asked if they have ever "gotten flack" for how they dress, Jauregui told the magazine, "Yeah...it's ridiculous! Just because we dress according to our body types and dress the way that we want to. A woman embracing her sexuality isn't wrong, it's not being a slut."
Fifth Harmony received a slew of slut-shaming tweets after winning Favorite New Artist at the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards, including many from fans of the all-male group 5 Seconds of Summer, which was also nominated.
Then there's that common double standard.
"I've noticed on our video comments, it's people's go-to, to accuse us of the whole 'slut thing,'" Jauregui told Cosmopolitan. "Then they support men who do the craziest things and say nothing about them. F--king Justin Bieber...I'm sorry, excuse me. Justin Bieber takes his pants off, posts a pic of it, and it's like, 'OMG, he's so hot.' What. Is. That?! How is this reality? Know what I mean?"
Normani said they receive criticism mainly from other women.
"People aren't getting that it's time to move on and be accepting of other women dressing however they want," Cabello said.
