Rihanna's hair statements on the Met Gala red carpet are usually just as noteworthy as her gowns. And we have a feeling she has a special beauty plan in play for tonight's big event.

The 27-year-old singer has been experimenting with a red shade recently, and this weekend she stepped out with a chic chin-grazing style. We bet there is some extension magic happening (or maybe even a wig), but the red color is giving us flashbacks to one of Rih's most memorable mane moments, from the 2011 Met Gala — that mermaid-inspired double braid, which she teamed with a one-shoulder lace Stella McCartney gown, Christian Louboutin sandals and Wilfredo Rosado fine jewelry.
