When The Voice UK returns to BBC One in January 2015, singer/actress Rita Ora will have a seat in one of the spinning red chairs. Ora, who’s playing Christian Grey’s sister, Mia, in Fifty Shades Of Grey, will join coaches Tom Jones, will.i.am and Ricky Wilson for the singing competition’s fourth season. Blind auditions start next month ahead of the new series. Ora’s star has risen over the past few years with four No. 1 singles in the UK and a strong selling debut album. Her film and TV work includes 2004 British crime pic Spivs, a role in Fast & Furious 6 and guest shots as herself on 90210 and The X Factor. Ora is replacing Kylie Minogue who left The Voice UK after one season citing scheduling conflicts with her next tour. The other coaches are heading into their second season working together.

Earlier this year, during Season 3, The Voice UK was renewed for two more runs. S3 averaged 8.2M viewers for BBC One, bolstered in part by a schedule change that saw it move from March to January. It had previously been locked in a showdown with ITV rival Britain’s Got Talent. For now, it has a wide berth in January as ITV searches for a Saturday night show to replace Rising Star which it kiboshed last week.

Ora said today, “So excited to be part of – and for my team to win – The Voice this series! Let’s have some fun will.i.am, Tom and Ricky! I’m really looking forward to the blind auditions – and spinning in my big red chair. EXCITED!!!!” She’s repped by CAA.
