When we spotted Kelly Rowland out and about this week, we couldn't help but notice her gorgeous grin first, and then quickly zeroed in on an equally brilliant diamond ring on her finger.

The talented performer and X Factor judge is rumored to be engaged to manager and boyfriend Tim Witherspoon, and with a gorgeous rock like that on our ring finger, we'd be all smiles too!

Naturally, we had to take a closer look at her blingy bauble and tapped celebrity jewelry expert Michael O'Connor for his take on this shiny statement piece.

"It's a classic style that we keep seeing more and more of these days! Celebrities are really gravitating towards cushion-cut diamonds because it's the best of both worlds, it's a mix of round and square shapes and it's really taking over," he told us.

As for the diamond itself, O'Connor estimates Rowland's ring weighs in at four stunning carats set securely in platinum with an estimated price tag of $100,000.

Not too shabby!

"The mounting is very classic with diamonds around the main stone and along the shank, too. The halo setting makes the diamond look even bigger," O'Connor explained. "The sentiment of a halo setting it that you're the center of the giver's universe, which is appropriate for an engagement ring."

Well, we like the sound of that.
