{blackbabes} Stevie Nicks Likes Beyoncé Because She's "Nice and Polite," "Not Skanky"

Queen Bey has earned the respect of a living legend—and with good reason! Speaking to the U.K.'s Telegraph on Sunday, Sept. 15, veteran rocker Steve Nicks praised the "Grown Woman" singer for remaining level-headed and humble since she burst onto the music scene with Destiny's Child in 1998.

"Beyoncé's great. She's got her alter ego [Sasha Fierce], but Beyoncé the girl, the woman, is very sweet and nice and polite," raved Nicks, 65. "She's a good role model. She's not skanky. I'm glad we have her."

Nicks met the R&B diva in 2001 when she appeared in Destiny's Child's "Bootylicious" music video; the popular song samples her own 1981 hit, "Edge of Seventeen."

During her Telegraph interview, Nicks also touched upon her relationship with the Glee cast. When Fleetwood Mac's music was featured in the 2011 episode "Rumours," Nicks visited the set and became close with many of the actors. After series star Cory Monteith died of a heroin overdose in July 2013, she reached out to the late actor's colleagues.

"I said, 'Forgive me if I'm stepping into your personal space. I lost my godson to an overdose last year—he died at a fraternity party—so I do understand how shocking that is," recalled Nicks, who battled a cocaine addiction in the '70s and '80s. "When what happened to Cory happened, I just was sick for days. Honestly, just sick. It's just so prevalent. It's everywhere. It's worse than when we were young."

Given what happened to Monteith, Nicks doesn't take her recovery for granted. "I think that I'm stronger than a lot of people," she said. "And I knew then, as I know now, that I still have so much to do."
