We have a long term contract opportunity for a seasoned Websphere Portal Developer in Peoria, IL.
Specifically we need someone with version 8 experience. We highly prefer a local resource or someone willing to relocate to Peoria for the duration of the project. An in-person final interview in Peoria, IL will be required.

Essential Functions of Websphere Portal Developer:
-Strong in designing and developing IBM websphere portal solutions - WebSphere Portal 6.x and above.
-Candidates should have solid understanding of J2EE application development, including the ability to read and understand servlets, portlets, and Java Server Faces (JSFs).
-Should have strong experience in Portal design with Design patterns.
-Strong in designing and developing IBM websphere portal solutions - WebSphere Portal 6.x and above.
-Candidates should have solid understanding of J2EE application development, including the ability to read and understand servlets, portlets, and Java Server Faces (JSFs).
-Should have strong experience in Portal design with Design patterns.
Required Knowledge and Skills for Websphere Portal Developer:
-Bachelor`s Degree required
-Must have experience in Java-standard, Portlet-based Application Development on IBM Platform
-6+ years of over-all information technology and software development experience
-2+ years IBM WebSphere Portal v6.x design and development including developing JSR 168/286 Portlets, WSRP, JSPs and Servlets, SOAP-based Web Services, RAD, Portlet Factory and/or Eclipse IDE
-Strong knowledge of WebSphere Portal components, services and frameworks, WebSphere Portal configuration, WebSphere JNDI, Spring configuration
-Experience in J2EE framework development experience (Spring/Spring MVC, Struts, JSF, Hibernate, etc.), object-oriented design and related tools (UML, Rational)
-Experience with most of the following: Maven, Hudson, Nexus, Spring JMS, WebSphere MQ, Spring JDBC, DAO Layer, SQL Server, JavaMail API, Spring Mail, TAM, SVN
-Familiar with the core design patterns and best practices (OO/Gang-of-Four, J2EE, Architecture)
-Familiar with SDLC methodologies
