Serena Williams has long urged pro tennis to dole out equal prize money to men's and women's champions of the French Open and Wimbledon. She was honored yesterday at Marie Claire's Women Taking the Lead luncheon at Marea, where Tory Burch, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Katie Couric and Sarah Jessica Parker were also praised for their efforts to boost equality in the workplace. Williams missed the event, which also drew Stacey Bendet Eisner and Norah O'Donnell, because she was still in France after winning the Open.
