Position:Cognos Developer
Location: Iselin, NJ – need local candidates only!
Duration: 6 months + (could be there a long time if they do a great job)

Our client, a well established wealth management firm, is looking for a Cognos Developer to work in their fee department. They are restructuring the way clients their clients are billed. They are looking for a great communicator with outstanding people skills, as well as analytical skills and of course an understanding of reporting. This is a sixth month assignment with the following responsibilities and qualifications:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop new reports.
* Work within the Cognos reporting framework.
* Work with the business areas to develop report requirements. Create business and data requirements for new reports.
* Write and maintain technical documentation to describe the report developed.
* Work with IT to discuss Cognos model changes and data elements for the reports.
* Provide technical assistance with troubleshooting reports by responding to inquiries and questions.
* Collaborate with outside team members and management.
* Any other duties that may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
* Bachelor*s degree * preference in computer/information sciences.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in development of BI applications, analysis and reports using IBM Cognos 8 Report Studio, Query Studio and Framework Manager Model.
* Minimum of 5 years experience with implementation and support life cycles with major BI solutions and platforms.
* Minimum of 5 year experience using SQL, ETL and Data Warehousing tools.
* Minimum of 2 year experience with and some business knowledge of finance and accounting, processes and organization.
* Some experience with Oracle stored procedures, ref cursor development.
Nice to have:
* Troubleshoot issues independently.
* Knowledge of Cognos Security * Access Manager.
* Some knowledge of scheduling and distributing Cognos reports.
