{blackbabes} 'Pretty Little Liars' picked up for a third season

Great news, "Pretty Little Liars" fans - the girls from Rosewood are getting a third season! Star Shay Mitchell broke the story on Twitter:

"Picked up for a third season of 'Pretty Little Liars' !! Congrats to all the cast & crew! I can't wait to see what 'A' has in store for us!"

And ABC Family has confirmed to Zap2it that the show has indeed been picked up, for 24 episodes. This is hardly a surprise. "Pretty Little Liars" has been very successful for ABC Family, with quite the fan following online.

The back half of "Liars" Season 2 will begin Jan. 2, 2012, in an episode titled "Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares," which features the Liars not exactly on the best of terms. Then presumably, as with the first two seasons, Season 3 would kick in June 2012.
