"Gossip Girl" star Michael Michele got into a panic when she lost a $250,000 diamond and emerald-encrusted bracelet at the L'Oréal Paris Legends Gala at the American Museum of Natural History. "That piece is worth a quarter of a million dollars!" the actress cried as she bobbed her head under her table and begged security to search the gargantuan museum for the missing treasure. Michele said she borrowed the bracelet and matching earrings from New York-based designer Mimi So to wear to the benefit for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund on Wednesday. "Mimi is one of my dear friends," she told us. "So at least I know she won't sue me tomorrow." Fortunately, a guest found the precious bauble on the stairs into the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life and handed it to security personnel, who returned it to a relieved Michele. She placed it in her clutch for safekeeping. Despite the happy ending, the star seemed shaken up throughout the evening, even as her former "ER" co-star Julianna Margulies emceed the event also attended by Kerry Washington, Andie MacDowell, Aimee Mullins, Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle.
