Is a trans-Atlantic X Factor switch in the works?
According to the U.K.'s Now Magazine, Simon Cowell is considering swapping U.S. judge Nicole Scherzinger for U.K. judge Kelly Rowland next season.
"Simon thinks [Rowland] will be amazing on the U.S. show," a source tells the magazine. "Nicole's had a mixed reaction in the U.S., so there's talk of a job swap."
A show rep told the magazine that no decisions have been made for next season of either series. Fox had no comment.
Scherzinger, who's enjoyed solo success across the pond, was originally selected to co-host the U.S. version, but got bumped to the judges' table after Cheryl Cole, an ex-judge on the U.K. series, was axed. Rowland replaced Cole on the U.K. X Factor this season and drew ire for missing a number of tapings because of illness. The former Destiny's Child singer recently told The Daily Mirror that she wasn't sure if she would return next year.
"X Factor next year? We'll see," Rowland said. "I definitely would love to go on tour though, so that will be my focus for next year."
What do you think? Should Nicole and Kelly switch? Or should Cheryl just come back?
