Actress Angela Bassett thought she'd missed her chance to bid on art at the "Take Home a Nude" auction and dinner at Sotheby's on Monday night. She arrived after the silent auction closed, and told us, "I got here late, so I missed it!" But the star, who owns works by Romare Bearden and Richard Mayhew, made it for the live auction, which included works from Patrick Demarchelier, Jeff Koons, Todd Eberle and others. Bidders at the event, which raised money for the New York Academy of Art, included Mary-Kate Olsen, Padma Lakshmi, Andre Balazs, and Cynthia Rowley. But Bassett was outbid and went home empty-handed.
