Position:Release Manager
Location: Jersey city,NJ

The Release 's responsibilities include planning, developing, coordinating and leading software release activities with application and support teams. This role works with Project Managers, Delivery Managers and Technical Support Managers to manage an overall release schedule for the releases they are assigned. The Release will identify the components of the release, work to package them into a unified code base for testing and deployment, ensuring the integrity of CLIENT S s production environment throughout the entire release cycle.
Responsibilities include:
Manage an overall release schedule with milestones showing key dependencies between projects in the release, key phase transitions for various components, key release activities, etc. Work with project managers, delivery managers, and technical support managers to ensure project alignment with overall release schedule and to ensure that
Schedule and facilitate release status meetings, and provide release communications to various stakeholders.
Ensure that overlapping architectural and design impacts are considered as the release projects are defined and planned. Ensure that individual projects do not proceed beyond their high-level design phase without appropriate reviews with other projects affecting the same areas of system architecture.
Ensure deliverables are completed within established timeframes and are of high quality.
Developing risk mitigation strategies when teams are faced with schedule and/or resource constraints to ensure the release stays on schedule.
Lead the planning and deployment of the software release to a live production environment.
Schedule interim pause and evaluate and lessons learned meetings during the release. Ensure that insights and actions from this meeting are recorded and addressed.
Conduct an end-of-release close-out meeting including a full lessons learned brainstorm and development of recommendations for the next release. The Release ensures that any release process documentation is updated for these recommendations.

Qualifications
Bachelor s degree
Ability to work effectively with matrix teams to set, manage, and accomplish desired release objectives - this requires the ability to positively influence clients, team members, management, and external groups
Technology:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Professional Office Suite
In depth knowledge of systems development life cycles and its application to project management efforts
Demonstrated knowledge of various technologies such as applications, databases, networking, telecommunications and connectivity
Project Management:
Project Management Certification
Extensive project management experience, including extensive knowledge of project management tools, techniques and practices
Minimum 3-5 years experience planning, organizing, and executing projects of varying complexity including 3 years managing releases / programs / portfolios
Experience managing portfolio with a minimum of $1 Million in labor in a matrix organization
Experience managing teams in a matrix organization with a minimum portfolio of 5 projects
Experience managing projects that have team members that are not co-located
