The Fourth of July means barbeques, beach time and, of course, fireworks! But for those that can't make it to their local fireworks display in-person, fear not: There are several ways to catch a colorful show — and lots of great musical performances — on your very own TV screen.
A Capitol Fourth: America's Independence Day Celebration, airing at 8/7c on PBS, will take place from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and will be hosted by Jimmy Smits. The 90-minute special will feature performances from Steve Martin, Matthew Morrison, Jordin Sparks, Josh Groban and Little Richard, as well as the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Jack Everly.
NBC will broadcast The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular from New York City at 9/8c. The hourlong special, which will pay tribute to the Statue of Liberty, will be hosted by Nick Lachey and feature musical artists Beyoncé and Brad Paisley.
Finally, The 38th Annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will air at 10/9c on CBS from the Charles River Esplanade. Michael Chiklis will host the event and Martina McBride is set to perform with the Boston Pops under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart.
