Position:Business Analyst (Need local)
Location:Golden Valley, MN
Duration- 7+months
Rate:55/hr corp to corp
Job Description:
The candidate will be working with a team which will be responsible for consolidating existing data structures into a common model to support business growth and realigning
reporting/information-delivery capabilities. We would expect that they have successfully worked on projects that have involved design / implementing data warehouse systems and
data warehouse models / structures including sourcing, loading, transformation and extraction of data and implementation of metadata processes and frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Host/facilitate requirement gathering sessions/workshops with project stakeholders to understand and document business requirement
Author Business Requirement Documents
Document Current State and Future State diagrams
Document business rules, Functional requirements & non-functional requirements
Analyze business workflow and system needs for data conversions & migrations
Write database queries to support data analysis (SQL and SAS)
Conduct data mapping , profiling and map & gap analysis
Design process flows based on customer and IT requirement
Define and document business transformation logic and required business rules based on requirements
Generate buy-in to proposed solutions, participation in analysis and testing activities
Identify and document impacts to process or organization and provide recommendations for solution
Document test scenarios
Develop test cases; writing queries against the source and target systems
Recognize scope limitations and raise potential scope issues, while designing best systems approach
Qualifications:
5+ yrs experience working in a Business / Data Analyst role
At least 3 years experience in the healthcare information industry working with large data sets in the the clinical and medical space.
3+ yrs SQL experience
3+ yrs SAS experience
5+ yrs experience in meaningful data analysis and/or reporting
2+ yrs experience working on data mart development
Experience with Casewise - Preferred
3+ years Oracle / Teradata
Excellent analytical and programming skills
Ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently
Ability to work independently
Solid communication skills
Collaborate with data users to understand needs and build requirements/use cases
Collaborate with engineers and developers to design/develop solutions
Demonstrated ability to identify key tasks that need to be completed, ability to accurately estimate those tasks and meet agreed upon deliverable date.
Build strong working relationships with team members, including business and technical project participants
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong/mature relationship building and teamwork skills
Strong planning and implementation skills
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, such as computer science, information science, applied mathematics, engineering, or the physical sciences is required. Any higher degree or
advanced certificate is a plus
