{blackbabes} 'The Vampire Diaries' Kat Graham: Bonnie is prepared to sacrifice herself for Elena

The stakes - no pun intended - are raised for all of the "Vampire Diaries" characters as we prepare for the final six episodes of Season 2. Bonnie, in particular, is in for a bit of a scary adventure, since in his dying moments, Jonas, the creepy doctor man-witch, gave her the clue to killing Klaus. With her mind.

The problem is, when Bonnie does major magic, she tends to get nosebleeds, which aren't a good sign. Trying to kill Klaus single-handedly could do some serious damage. We caught up with Katerina Graham on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" to ask her whether Bonnie would be willing to sacrifice herself to kill Klaus and keep Elena safe.

"I think she's always been prepared to," Graham says. "Losing her Grams kind of put a switch in her brain, where she was like 'The only family I have left is Elena.' And her dad, but she's so close with [Elena], I think she's willing to do whatever she can to protect her."

She adds, "Elena wanted to sacrifice herself to protect her friends, to protect all of us, so I think everyone is going to do whatever's in their power, whatever they need to do to protect the town, protect each other, and I'm no exception."

Of course, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) might not be on board with that plan. We're hoping that this relationship lasts, for his sake, since he's lost so many loved ones over the course of the series already.

"I wouldn't be surprised if there are obstacles," Graham says of the Bonnie/Jeremy relationship. "Especially for Bonnie -- she's just got so many problems! I see it going really well though, for a while, with him being such a strong support system for her, and having that person that she can identify with, that isn't going to make her feel alone. It's just a very familiar and loving vibe."

In between all the loving, though, Bonnie has some major responsibilities to take on -- and more magic for Bonnie means more work for Graham.

"I was doing stunts recently that I've never done before," she says, excited. "I still get to play with fire and all that crazy stuff. You'll definitely get to see all the fun witchy cool things that people love to see. It's very challenging. Those scenes take a lot longer than some of the other scenes because there are all these rigs and stuff like that." She admits that there have been occasions when the stuntwork and the fire (it's real, folks, not edited in later) have made her "very, very nervous."

Nervous is a good word to describe how we're feeling about "The Vampire Diaries" in general right now. "That's good! I want everyone to be as nervous as they need to be to tune in and watch on April 7, so if you're scared, please watch," Graham says. "I really do. I don't care. I really don't care. I want you all to be shaking in your boots when you watch 'Vampire Diaries.'"
