That titanic twosome of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush absolutely blows away the competition this week with its new album, The Incredible Machine. It arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard chart via first-week sales, says Nielsen SoundScan, of 202,711 copies. It also tops the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
Darius Rucker -- whose Charleston, SC 1966 was last week's best-selling country CD -- can take some consolation in the fact that his "Come Back Song" is this week's premier single.
Despite the excitement at the top, there's relatively little news to report farther down the charts. There are no other album debuts and only three new songs: Kenny Chesney's "Somewhere With You" (No. 35), Christian Kane's "The House Rules" (No. 54) and Lee Brice's "Beautiful Every Time" (No. 59).
Albums returning to the charts include Wynonna's Love Heals: A Tribute to Our Wounded Warriors (back at No. 57), the multi-artist package, Mud Digger (No. 74) and Guy Penrod's Breathe Deep (No. 75).
Following Sugarland and Rucker in the Top 5 albums cluster, in descending order, are Chesney's Hemingway's Whiskey, the Zac Brown Band's You Get What You Give and The Band Perry's self-titled collection.
The No. 2 through No. 5 songs are Zac Brown Band's "As She's Walking Away" (featuring Alan Jackson), Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue," Easton Corbin's "Roll With It" and Taylor Swift's "Mine."
