Roku has ordered a third season of Honest Renovations, the home improvement series starring and executive produced by Jessica Alba and LIzzy Mathis.

Honest Renovations follows working mothers and entrepreneurs Alba and Mathis as they help families complete the home renovations of their dreams, while confronting parenting issues through candid conversations.

Season one of Honest Renovations first debuted on The Roku Channel in August 2023 and debuted as the No, 1 title by reach and streaming hour engagement, according to Roku. It also debuted as the No. 1 on-demand title on The Roku Channel during Season 2's opening weekend, August 23-25, 2024.

"We are proud to have partnered with Jessica, Lizzy, and the entire production team on Honest Renovations for the past two seasons," said Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Originals, Roku Media. "Our streamers love Jessica and Lizzy's compassionate, relatable nature, while they transform the homes of these remarkable families. We look forward to spreading the series' life-changing impact to more families in season three."

Roku previously announced plans for a holiday-themed special – Honest Renovations: A Holiday Makeover – for 2024. The special, which debuts this holiday season, will follow Alba and Mathis as they meet the Pauls, a family of 10, and help transform their home just in time for their annual holiday party.

3 Arts Entertainment, MGM Television, Summit House Entertainment, and Rahmath Productions will return to produce the series. Alba, actress and founder of The Honest Company, and Mathis, host and founder of The Cool Mom Co., executive produce with Dunia McNeily, Oly Obst, Lucilla D'Agostino and Jordana Starr. The series is overseen by Olivia LaRoche, Head of Alternative Originals, on behalf of Roku Originals.

Paramount+ has set Sunday, October 27 for the Season 2 premiere of Taylor Sheridan's Lioness. The second season will launch with two episodes, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and international markets where the service is available. The streamer also released some first-look photos, which you can view above and below.

Filming on Season 2 is currently underway in Texas.

Lioness stars Zoe Saldaña, who also executive produces, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez and Michael Kelly, with Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman, who executive produces.

In Season 2, as the CIA's fight against terror moves closer to home, Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Kelly) enlist a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat. With pressure mounting from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the profound personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.

The series also stars Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.

Season 1 of Lioness set a record as the streamer's most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day, with nearly 6 million total viewers in its first week across Paramount+ globally and on a linear preview on the Paramount Network. 

The espionage thriller is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Sheridan executive produces with David C. Glasser, Saldaña, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox.

Netflix on Wednesday morning announced that The Six Triple Eight, Tyler Perry's WWII drama starring Emmy winner Kerry Washington (Unprisoned), will be released in select theaters on December 6, debuting on the streamer on December 20.

The company also unveiled a teaser and a series of first-look stills, which you can view above and below.

Based on Kevin M. Hymel's article "Fighting A Two-Front War," published in WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media, The Six Triple Eight is inspired by the first and only Women's Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII. Despite facing racism and sexism — and grueling working conditions — they were committed to serving their country with honor and distinction. Given an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes delivered hope and shattered barriers.

Washington leads the ensemble as Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. Others in the cast include Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston and Oprah Winfrey.

Perry directed from his own script and produced alongside Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, Tony L. Strickland, Keri Selig and Carlota Espinosa. Peter Guber and Washington served as executive producers, with 15-time Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren contributing the original song "The Journey" and Oscar winner H.E.R. performing it.

Simone Miller (Run The Burbs) and Jason Diaz (Vampire Academy) have been cast alongside Mary-Louise Parker and Ben Barnes in The Institute, MGM+'s thriller series based on the 2019 Stephen King novel, from director/executive producer Jack Bender (Lost, Mr. Mercedes), writer/executive producer Benjamin Cavell (Justified, The Stand) and MGM+ Studios.

In the eight-episode The Institute, when 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won't last, as his story and Luke's are destined to collide.

Miller plays Kalisha, a sarcastic-but-friendly Institute inmate, who becomes one of Luke's closest allies.

Diaz plays Tony, the most sadistic of the Institute's orderlies, who delights in wielding his power over the children.

When The Institute was published in 2019, it was originally acquired by Spyglass for the Mr. Mercedes team of writer/EP David E. Kelley and EP Bender. This is a new incarnation of the project with a new writer and studio.

Miller most recently heavily recurred on Hulu's Run The Burbs and was a series regular on Max's Detention Adventure. She's repped by Kamera Talent, Vault Entertainment and Bloch Law.

Diaz has held recurring roles on Vampire Academy, The 100, Charmed and The Bold Type. Most recently he booked an episode of CBS' Tracker. Diaz is repped by The Talent House Canada and David Dean Management.

Alejandro G. Iñàrritu's movie with Tom Cruise has assembled a murderers' row cast. The four-time Oscar-winning filmmaker's untitled movie for Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment counts Oscar-nominated Anatomy of a Fall actress Sandra Hüller, Emmy winner John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Oscar nominee Jesse Plemons and Talk to Me actress Sophie Wilde. Deadline first told you back in February that Cruise was starring and he's also producing the latest feature project from The Revenant and Birdman filmmaker. The Mission: Impossible franchise star, you'll remember, has a strategic movie partnership at the Burbank lot.

Iñàrritu co-wrote the 2023 screenplay with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone. The logline as we know it centers on the most powerful man in the world, who embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster he's unleashed destroys everything.

Hüller not only received a Best Actress Oscar nom for the Cannes Palme d'Or-winning Anatomy of a Fall but also a Golden Globe nom and a César Best Actress. Anatomy of a Fall won an Oscar for Justine Triet and Arthur Harari's screenplay. Up next for the UTA-repped Hüller is the Ryan Gosling/Lord Miller feature Project Hail Mary at Amazon MGM Studios; Markus Schleinzer's period drama Rose; and the Kent Jones-directed Late Fame, in which she stars with Willem Dafoe.

Goodman starred in more than 100 episodes of The Connors, won an Emmy for Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and counts dozens of film credits including Argo, The Big Lebowski, Barton Fink, Flight, 10 Cloverfield Lane, to name a few. He is repped by Gersh and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.

Stuhlbarg is a two-time Emmy nominee for Dopesick and The Looming Tower. His credits also include The Instigators, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Bones and All, The Serious Man, The Shape of Water and Boardwalk Empire. The actor is repped by CAA, Viking Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson Teller.

Plemons just won Best Actor at Cannes for Yorgos Lanthimos' Kinds of Kindness. He co-starred in the Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon and was a Supporting Actor Oscar nominee for The Power of the Dog. He's a three-time Emmy nominee for Fargo, Black Mirror and Love & Death. The actor is repped by TalentWorks and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum.

Wilde starred in Talk to Me, Everything Now and miniseries Boy Swallows Universe. She is repped by WME and Independent Management.

Ahmed won an Oscar for the short live-action film The Long Goodbye and was nominated for Best Actor for 2021's Sound of Metal. His feature credits include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Fingernails and the upcoming David Mackenzie-directed thriller Relay, which will have it world premiere at TIFF. Ahmed won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited Series for The Night Of. He is repped by WME and Gang Tyre Ramer.

Criminal Record, starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo, has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV+.

The thriller, created and written by Paul Rutman, will continue seeing Capaldi's Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty and Jumbo's Detective Sergeant June Lenker as they clash again in a complex murder investigation.

In its sophomore season, Jumbo's June Lenker is set as the senior officer on the scene when far-right counter-protesters attack a political rally. The clash leaves a young man dead, which consumes June with guilt and drives her to bring the unknown killer to justice.

June's best hope in finding the killer is Daniel Hegarty, who is now a key figure in the shadowy world of police intelligence. He may have the answers she needs, but to get his help, she will have to accept a dangerous bargain.

Criminal Record's first season, consisting of eight episodes, debuted to Apple TV+ subscribers on January 10, 2024. The first season ended on February 21 with the episode "Carla," directed by Shaun James Grant.

Season 1 of the series also starred Zoë Wanamaker, Charlie Creed-Miles, Cathy Tyson, Stephen Campbell Moore, and Shaun Dooley. Recurring actors throughout the first season included Dionne Brown, Tom Moutchi, Aysha Kala, Jordan Nash, Georgia Rich, Rasaq Kukoyi, and Maisie Ayres.

Criminal Record is filmed in London and produced for Apple TV+ by Tod Productions and STV Studios. For season two, Elaine Collins is joined by Chris Sussman as executive producer alongside Rutman, Capaldi, and Jumbo.

Netflix has tapped Nicole Scherzinger (The Pussycat Dolls) to serve as mentor and judge on Netflix's upcoming music competition series Building the Band. Joining her on the judges' panel are One Direction's Liam Payne and Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland. Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean will serve as host.

Filming on the series is set to begin this summer. Additional guest judges, along with various challenges will be announced at a later date.

Building the Band seeks to discover the next great music group without bandmates initially meeting face-to-face. In the series, the singers are in complete control as they seek to form their very own bands in individual 'booths' without ever seeing each other. All they have to go on is musical compatibility, connection, chemistry and merit. What will happen when the bands finally meet, and looks, choreography, and style come into play?

The series comes from The Wall producer Remarkable Entertainment, which is part of Banijay UK. Cat Lawson, Alison Holloway, Katrina Morrison, Clara Elliot and Simon Crossley serve as executive producers.

"Building the Band is a brave and bold undertaking for all involved as we hand over power to the singers themselves to form their own band based on chemistry first," said Lawson. "With looks out of the equation, can they create a deeper connection with their bandmates? With limited bands, there are difficult decisions and heart stopping moments along the way, but ultimately the outcome is truly amazing, with bands forming, who in my opinion are worthy of the very biggest stage!"

The Pitt, Max's upcoming drama series starring and executive produced by Noah Wyle, continues to round out its cast, adding nine actors in recurring roles. Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom), Michael Hyatt (Snowfall), Jalen Thomas Brooks (Thanksgiving), Brandon Mendez Homer (The Good Fight), Kristin Villanueva (Bonding), Amielynn Abellera (The Cleaning Lady), Alexandra Metz (Chicago Fire), Krystel V. Created by R. Scott Gemmill (NCIS: Los Angeles, ER) who also serves as showrunner, The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.

Character descriptions are being kept under wraps.

The Pitt is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. Gemmill will write the first episode and executive produce the series alongside Wyle, Wells and JWP's Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan and Michael Hissrich.

Industry star Myha'la is getting ready to slay in the New Line-Skydance-Nocturna horror film They Will Kill You.

She joins already announced castmembers Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, Heather Graham and Tom Felton.

New Line, as we previously told you, is co-financing and releasing the movie which is from Andy and Barbara Muschietti's Nocturna Pictures, the horror label they formed this year with Skydance. Kirill Sokolov is writing and directing from a script co-written with Alex Litvak.

The UTA, 11:11 Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen repped Myha'la plays Harper Stern in Industry, currently in its third season on HBO.

Myha'la recently starred in the Sam Esmail-directed Netflix movie Leave the World Behind based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, oppossite Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, and Mahershala Ali. The pic was one of the streamer's most viewed titles last year. Upcoming, Myha'la can be seen alongside Lily James in 20th Century's Bumble / Tinder film inspired by the story of Whitney Wolfe Herd.  Other credits include starring roles in Sony's Dumb Money as well as in the A24 thriller Bodies, Bodies, Bodies directed by Halina Reijn.

Lynn Whitfield will have an expanded role in The Chi moving forward, as the actress has been upped from guest star to series regular for Season 7.

Whitfield stars as Alicia, an intimidating, fearless and powerful matriarch who is laser-focused on avenging her brother's murder. Last season, she squared off with rival villain Douda (Curtiss Cook), ultimately losing her son (guest star Iman Shumpert) to gun violence in the process.

Season 6 wrapped in June and set a new record for the series as the most-streamed season The Chi has ever seen, Deadline can also reveal exclusively, meaning that the season held onto momentum that began when the second half premiered in May.

The May 12 episode scored nearly 2M viewers across platforms in its first seven days, up 4% versus the last premiere episode (for the first half of Season 6).

The Chi is created and executive produced by Lena Waithe under her Hillman Grad banner and executive produced by Common. The series is a coming-of-age story centering on a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption.

Along with Waithe and Common, the series is executive produced by Aaron Kaplan (A Million Little Things, The Neighborhood), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone of ID8 Multimedia, and Rishi Rajani, CEO of Hillman Grad.

Alexandra Shipp (Anyone But You), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) will topline Midnight, a new action thriller from first-time feature filmmaker Joshua Otis Miller and Yale Productions.

Dawson is also a producer on the pic, which has wrapped production in Connecticut.

Written by Lamont Magee and Jeff Byrd, Midnight follows a young, blind woman (Shipp) as she is hunted by a group of international criminals (led by Jovovich) searching for a package they believe was given to the woman by her federal agent sister (Dawson). However, the assailants quickly realize that the woman, though unable to see, may be far more dangerous than expected.

The film is produced by Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions in collaboration with Dawson, Leah Elizabeth Rucinski, and Timothy Christian and Rab Butler of Night Fox Entertainment. Other producers include David Gere, Chelsea Vale, and Beth Bryant. Michael Day co-produced.

Currently, Dawson leads the Star Wars series Ahsoka, Disney+'s acclaimed spin-off of The Mandalorian. Recently, she's also been seen in Disney's remake of Haunted Mansion and Kevin Smith's Clerks III, as well as series like Dopesick. Dawson also co-produced and co-starred in the scripted series Normal Ain't Normal, which started streaming this past fall.

Next to be seen starring opposite Nick Jonas in Robert Schwartzman's indie The Good Half, Shipp has been on a tear in recent years, with roles in Anyone But You, Barbie, tick, tick… BOOM! and more. Also coming up is the indie thriller Violent Ends, in which she stars opposite Billy Magnussen.

Best known for leading the billion-dollar Resident Evil franchise, Jovovich recently wrapped World-Breaker for director Brad Anderson and will next be seen in In the Lost Lands directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson.

A co-producer on the upcoming HBO series Green Lantern, Magee has also served as a writer and co-producer on Black Lightning and as supervising producer on All American: Homecoming, both for The CW. His tap dance feature Buffalo Flats is set up at MGM Films with Emma Westenberg attached to direct, and he's partnered with Geoff Johns and others on the new comic book imprint Ghost Machine.

A protégé of Spike Lee, Byrd co-wrote and directed Book of Love: The Definitive Reason Why Men Are Dogs, which was acquired by BET Pictures, as well as Truth Be Told starring Regina King. Additionally, he's directed on shows like The Flash, Runaways, Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Currently, he serves as an exec producer and director on Showtime's Yellowjackets, for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 2023.

Wendy Raquel Robinson ("The Game," "The Steve Harvey Show") has been cast in a recurring role on the new CBS sitcom "Poppa's House," which stars father-son duo Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.

Per the official logline for the series: "Legendary talk radio host and happily divorced 'Poppa' (Wayans) has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband."

Robinson will portray Poppa's ex-wife and Junior's mom. Additional confirmed cast for the series includes Tetona Jackson as Nina, Junior's wife.

In sitcom "The Game," Robinson played Tasha Mack, the mother and manager of Malik Wright (Hosea Chanchez), a star football quarterback on a fictional professional football team. She also portrayed Principal Regina Grier-Maddox on "The Steve Harvey Show."

Robinson has appeared in films like "Two Can Play at That Game," Martin Lawrence's "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" and "Miss Congeniality."

The actor made her debut in 1993 on an episode of "Martin," and later guested on shows like "The Sinbad Show," "Thea," "All of Us" and "The Parkers". Off screen, Robinson co-founded the Amazing Grace Conservatory, a school dedicated to the arts for youth in Los Angeles. She serves as artistic director of the conservatory, which she co-founded with late actor Tracy Lamar Coley.

Robinson is represented by Talent Works and Artist Collective Entertainment.

Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor and Naomi Watts have joined the ensemble cast of Hulu's All's Fair, a new legal series from Ryan Murphy, alongside previously announced Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close. Paulson, Nash and Watts will also executive produce.

Paulson, Nash and Watts have all previously collaborated with Murphy on various projects. Paulson has worked alongside Murphy in American Horror Story, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Mrs. America and Ratched, to name a few. Nash will star in Murphy's upcoming FX series Grotesquerie while Watts has starred in The Watcher and most recently Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.

The new series is set at a Los Angeles all-female law firm and is described by Murphy as "a high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural." Kardashian, who stars and executive produces, will portray a divorce attorney. The previously announced Glenn Close will portray the head of the firm. Details regarding the show's plot and character descriptions for Paulson, Nash, Taylor and Watts remain under wraps.

While Halle Berry was previously attached to star, the new additions are not replacing her role as they will all play new roles made for each actor, Deadline understands.

All's Fair marks the first series for Murphy under his new deal at Disney, with 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, producing in association with Ryan Murphy Television. The series is penned by Jon Robin Baitz, writer of Murphy's Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans, and Joe Baken who also executive produce. In addition to Murphy, Kardashian, Close (Trillium Productions), Paulson, Nash, Watts, Baitz and Baken, executive producers also include Jamie Pachino, Lyn Greene, Richard Levine, Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Holly Jete (HalleHolly). Murphy is also set to direct.

Paulson is repped by CAA. Watts is repped by CAA, Untitled and HJTH. Nash is repped by Artists First, WME and Jackoway Austen. Taylor is repped by WME and Taylormade Management Group.
