Jada Pinkett Smith is upset about the way her relationship with close friend Tupac Shakur has been portrayed in the new biopic on the late rapper, "All Eyez On Me."
"Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in 'All Eyez On Me' to stand as truth," she wrote in a series of tweets on Friday.
The actress said that Tupac never actually read her the poem he penned about her in "The Rose That Grew From Concrete." She claims she didn't even know about it until the book was published.
She clears up other claims of falsehoods in the feature film, including: "Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn't to pursue his career … I've never been to any of Pac's shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage."
Smith continued, "The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful."
She made sure not to place any of the blame on Kat Graham, who plays her in the movie, and Demetrius Shipp Jr., who plays Tupac.
"This is no fault of yours," she wrote. "Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles. You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both."
