Time to get out the tissues, fang fans, because another fan-favorite female character is exiting "The Vampire Diaries."
Kat Graham announced via Us Weekly on Tuesday (April 5) that she plans to leave "The Vampire Diaries" after the upcoming eighth season of the show. "Season eight will be my last season," Graham says, "But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we're going to blow it out."
This news shouldn't come as a total shock, since Graham is set to executive produce a new dance show for The CW. She also made statements earlier this year about "The Vampire Diaries" coming to a close and it possibly being the right time for the show to end.
Bonnie fans shouldn't be worried just yet though, since "The Vampire Diaries" will likely have anywhere between 9-22 episodes next year, which will be more than enough time to do the character justice and leave us with some great new memories of everyone's favorite Bennett witch.
This also possibly leaves the door open for Elena (Nina Dobrev) to return, since killing Bonnie would free her from the sleeping curse that currently has her in a coffin full-time. That development would, of course, hinge on Dobrev having an interest in picking the series back up full-time.
If, however, Bonnie exits without dying and Dobrev hasn't changed her tune about returning to the show, this news could signal the beginning of the end for everyone's favorite vampire drama. After all, what's Mystic Falls without Bonnie Bennett and Elena Gilbert?
"The Vampire Diaries" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW
