Keisha Knight Pulliam was officially the first person fired from Season 7 of
"The Celebrity Apprentice." As it turns out Pulliam not only was let go due to her poor delegating skills as project manager, but for her failure to use her connection to Bill Cosby to bring in the cold, hard cash.
Now no one could have predicted a year ago when the reality competition series was being filmed that having a good relationship with Bill Cosby would actually be scandalous by the time the show premiered. During the time of the taping though, the woman who is most famous for playing the lovable Rudy Huxtable on
"The Cosby Show" failed to reach out to one of the biggest money makers she had in her rolodex and it cost her the competition.
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore was the first member of the women's team to inquire about if the main goal of the group bake sale was to generate as much money as possible, why Pulliam didn't reach out to her former TV patriarch. The former child star brushed off the idea quickly saying something about only reaching out to people who could "deliver the quickest."When the team ended up losing and Pulliam had to face Donald Trump himself, Cosby was the first thing brought up."Did you call Bill," Trump immediately asked.
"I did not," Pulliam responded through tears. "I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don't know how long. So for me to pick up the phone ... having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event -- I feel that's not my place to do."
Ultimately her excuse wasn't good enough for Mr. Trump and she was let go. Interestingly, due to the time lapse and what the public now knows about Cosby and his rape allegations, Trump's response when delivering the bad news felt extremely dated.
"I really believe if you'd called that gentleman he would've helped you, even if you hadn't spoken to him in years," Trump said. "You were on an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever. So I think it would've been a very good call to make for charity. But you have to take responsibility. I think you agree with that."
