Ooh, burn. As she sipped champagne during a HOT 97 radio interview on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Mariah Carey dissed American Idol and seemingly reignited her feud with former judge Nicki Minaj.
"Honestly, I hated it," Carey said of her single season on the Fox show. "I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice dangling monetary moment, and I was just like, 'Okay. Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.' But it wasn't that. It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan."

The "Art of Letting Go" singer cackled at her own comparison before attempting to downplay her comments. "Naw, I'm just playing. It didn't affect me that much," she insisted. "I was disappointed."
The pair of female judges got into several heated debates during the auditions and the live shows. In May 2013, the rapper even bashed Carey on Twitter, calling her "insecure" and "bitter."
Not every moment was marred by working with Minaj, however. "You know what I loved? I loved the contestants," Carey told radio host Angie Martinez. "And some of them that were so good—and also really good people, you could tell—it was disappointing when [the judges] would, for political reasons, not put people through."
Carey has no plans to ever judge a televised talent competition again. "I like being in the studio better and going on my own tours, etc., so we're going back to that," she vowed.
Neither Carey nor Minaj will return to the show for Season 15 in January 2014. Instead, Keith Urban will be joined by Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr., with Jackson taking on a mentor role.
