"Hello. What do you want? You can't have it. Goodbye."

Those words are even funnier coming from Sufe Bradshaw as the gatekeeper to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' vice president on HBO's "Veep" Sundays.

"That is very DMV of her," Bradshaw tells Zap2it. "I totally patterned my character after someone at the DMV."

Bradshaw describes Sue as "a really busy lady. It is a busy office, and she has so much work to do being a scheduler for the vice president, and with the phone ringing and emails coming in, Sue kind of has to monitor who gets to see the vice president and who doesn't. She isn't mean, just efficient and acerbic."

Off camera, Bradshaw is mellow, which has a lot to do with being the middle child of nine.

"You learn to get along," Bradshaw says.

Such a large family also gave her a built-in audience.

"When I was younger, I was always willing to tell a joke and play out a scene," Bradshaw says. "I would get sticks and pretend they were light sabers. I think it was just at a young age, I was so willing to jump up and perform a little play at the family picnic."

Like so many actors, Bradshaw has worked other jobs.

"I used to wait tables at Gladstone's, a seafood restaurant, day in and day out," she says. "I made some of my best friends there. I taught dance and acting lessons to kids. It was awesome, an outreach program, Voices Unheard. I was a messenger for a couple of months."

But it was years as a cater waiter that resonate.

"It is almost ironic," she says.

After working the Emmys in 2009 as a cater waiter, she attended them in 2012 as an actress. This, Bradshaw says, was "just a sobering moment."
