Position:Java Developer
Location: Southfield, MI
Duration: 6 Months
Position Description:
Applicant will be working within a small project team in support of a manufacturing client. Based on client provided requirements, applicant will be analyzing and design application changes to legacy applications using Java (J2EE) and SQL Server 2000/2005. Knowledge to PowerBuilder v10 would be a great bonus. Applicant will be creating Technical Design Documentation to show the steps needed to make the necessary changes. Applicant will be programming using Powerbuilder and SQL Server to make the changes outlined in Technical Design Documents. All application changes go through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
A successful applicant will possess the required skills below; have superior analytical ability; think independently; speak, write and listen effectively; and be diligent and dedicated to producing a quality product for the customer on time and within budget.
Required Skills:
J2EE (3+ years)
JDK 1.4.2 and above.
MVC architecture.
Eclipse.
Struts (1+ year).
SQL Server 2000 / 2005 (2+ years) ;
T-SQL;
Stored Procedures;
DTS / SSIS Packages. ;
MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) ;
Must be able to Analyze and Design application updates;
Must be able to provide accurate estimates of effort/time to complete project tasks;
Must be able to understand and prepare Technical Design Documents ;
Must have working knowledge of complete SDLC. ;
Strong written and oral communication skills;
Ability to effectively communicate and work with system end users/business users;
(follow up, timely communication) ;
Effective working in team environment (collaborative, communicates with others proactively) ;
Strong problem solving skills, analytical, logical thinker ;
Desired Skills:
Manufacturing Systems Background (Order Processing, Inventory, RFQ) ;
WinForms
C# (1+ years) ;
.Net, ASP.NET
- PowerBuilder
Version 10 and above. ;
PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC). ;

Windows-based applications (utilizing technologies above)
