Description:
The Zope Software Engineer assists with company specific programming efforts which involve planning, scheduling, reporting, and controlling the individual activities that makes up the information system development lifecycle, assists with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of all custom created software and database management systems and participates in the creation and maintenance of applications and supporting tools to meet evolving requirements.
• Authors new applications, and maintains, adapts, and updates existing systems to meet user requirements and to enhance program efficiency.
• Provides insight and assistance to team members. Assists with various reports on project progress and problems ensuring key milestones are fulfilled. Develops and ensures that projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Assists with preparation of reports on the status, operation, and maintenance of system software for use by computer equipment suppliers, systems designers, other programmers and computer operators. Utilizes strong product knowledge to analyze new product requirements.
• Ensures programming and testing activities are conducted per Healthcare, Inc. software development process methodology. Ensures proper documentation of new systems, features and services.
• Assists with regular project and code reviews.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related area; or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years progressive software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience effectively participating on development teams and/or other development support groups with a demonstrated history of successful project management is a plus.
• Exposure and expertise in leading business and IT teams in the design, development, testing and delivery of large scale process change is a plus.
• Extensive understanding of past and present Zope frameworks (Zope2/Plone/Bluebream/Grok/Repoze).
• Experience delivering solutions using Buildout.
• Experience delivering solutions using JavaScript/AJAX/jQuery.
Skills:
• Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures that relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Knowledge of following technologies:
Zope, Python, Microsoft SQL Server 2k5 or Oracle, etc. including building web services. Knowledge of SQL Server 2k8 required.
• Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design that includes implementation solutions for the healthcare industry.
• In-depth knowledge of systems development lifecycle and/or operational maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of test-driven development (doctest/nose/zope.testrunner).

• Excellent oral and written technical, business and user communication skills
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, is detail oriented, and capable of working cross functionally within the organization.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
