For many of us, we despise when a contestant leaves a reality show of their own accord - mainly because we feel that they took the spot from someone who would have made the most of the competition and really wanted it. But, on the last episode, of
"America's Next Top Model," Ondrei gets a pass from us.
She left after the emotions of losing two brothers unexpectedly - one from an accident, the other murdered - were too much to handle and we're surprised she made it as long as she did. Now, the 19-year-old tells us that time has helped and she's doing much better, as well as looking forward to continuing her modeling career.
Zap2it asked the young Atlanta native five questions about her decision to leave and more:
1.) What was your reaction to the drama in the kitchen?
I was pretty much thinking for me to be the youngest and for them to argue over something so silly, me only being 19 and everybody being like over 20. So, it was a shock it was so childish. But I mean, hey, get a whole group of girls in the house and something's bound to come up to the surface and it so happened to be about chicken.
2.) Did you expect that acting lesson to get so emotional?
I think everybody cried about something. It was more emotional than I thought it would be. When we got there, I was like, okay, acting is going to be about fake emotions and stuff like that, but it turned out to be more deeper for me than anything. That was when I realized that I had a more personal issue and it didn't start to come out until then. I remember sitting at home watching and everyone was crying, my mom, my sister, even I was crying again. I didn't realize how much it had impacted me until that point.
3.) How hard was the decision to leave the show for you?
I thought about it every day, but I wasn't going to leave until after I really thought about it. Every day, I prayed and I talked to all of the girls and let them know how I felt, because I didn't want there to be any surprises with anybody. It was definitely a hard decision to make. And to go in front of the judges and tell them I have to leave after they gave me a great opportunity to have a big contract. It was hard and it would be for anybody. But, it was a decision I had to make for myself and I had to think about Ondrei before I had to think about anybody.
4.) After you left, were you shocked to hear what Monique had to say about you? Yeah, after hearing what she said, I wasn't aware of what she thought about me leaving. It was a shock. And it was a little disturbing, because she was the girl who made me talk and let me know that she understood. So for her to say that and for it to come up while we were talking, it was a little surprising to me.
I think my family was more upset than I was. But, you know it doesn't bother me, because I knew someone would be the one to do that and it so happened to be her. So, it was bound to happen, but I'm shocked it was Monique, the girl who was hugging me and all this stuff. So, I was surprise and a little upset.
5.) Who are your top three for the win?
I would say
Brittani and
Molly get my vote. I'm rooting for those girls until the until the end. First of all, their personalities are really good. They are good girls and they really deserve it. You know, it's not about being on TV for them. They actually want to have a career and to be role models for other girls as well as myself. I'll be rooting for
Sara, because her look is so unique and different. People may look at her and say, 'Oh, she looks so boyish, she doesn't need to be a model,' but true beauty is within. She's a wonderful person.
"America's Next Top Model" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
